Learn the capitals and countries of the world

If you have trouble getting your kids to learn their geography or you just want to test your knowledge, World of Where may be of interest to you. The program is extremely easy to use. Once you launch it, a world map appears and you can choose which continent you want to be quizzed on. Good to know however, the trial version only lets you navigate to Europe.

There are three types of quizzes: cities, countries and flags. You have no time limit and can skip a question if you don't know the answer. And if you're feeling really smart, you can decide to take on the world and have questions coming from any continent. With a quizz on the American States, World of Where is directed specifically towards US users. Try it out and see how much you know about geography.

Many maps are a mind-crunching mess of words splattered at all angles over continents. When reading a conventional atlas or political map, the biggest problem people face is the overwhelming amount of information, forcing the brain to slow down and chew through the visual data. World of Where features a gorgeously refreshing system for browsing the planet. Its clean, fresh, colorful maps are easy to digest visually, and the sophisticated hide/show toggles make it easy to distinguish between countries, cities and oceans.

Brush your cursor over any country in World of Where and find yourself graced with a bubble displaying the Population, Area and GNIPP of that nation. Hover over a capital city and you will be greeted with a similar bubble displaying its longitude and latitude coordinates. Hover over any planet to find eight statistics including mass, rotational period and surface gravity.

Broadening World of Where's geographical content are relevant oceans and seas built into every map highlighted in soft purple for distinction; their visibility also toggled with the hide/show feature.

When learning geography, it is essential to keep track of your progress and watch your growth. World of Where's high scores feature does this for each map's countries and capital cities and goes even further to calculate your percentage of the entire world and your average, which you can then print out and hang on your wall.

Included in World of Where is a flags database. Simply click on any country with the flags window visible to immediately see its national flag and then quiz your knowledge with the new flags test.
